Clickfarm Helps Harbinger Maximize Its Cyberspace Real Estate

Harbinger Property Group is a commercial real estate firm serving the Kansas City area and the Midwest. Although the firm is relatively small and relatively new, it was important to the company’s principals and their business to project an image that would appeal to prospective clients from across the country, as well as from the metropolitan area.

Knowing that its Website would be the company’s “front door” to the world, Leawood, Kan.-based Harbinger needed a Web development partner who could not only provide them with a top drawer design, but also with the functionality to enable them to engage prospective customers quickly.

After interviewing a number of area firms, Managing Principal Nathan Anderson and his team selected Clickfarm Interactive.

“[Clickfarm partners] Brett [Wacha] and Brandon [Worrell] both have a low-key style that was refreshing and they were very perceptive when it came to understanding what we were looking for,” said Anderson. “But what really closed the deal for us was Clickfarm’s Content Management System, which allows us to update the content of our Website anytime from anywhere in the world.”

Anderson said that Harbinger’s old Website was a static design that required a knowledgeable programmer, even for minor tweaks such as updating a telephone number or photograph. “It cost a lot of time and money to make even the simplest changes,” said Anderson.

“We wanted our site to be user-friendly but also something that would be unique in our industry,” said Anderson. “I challenged Brett and Brandon to take a look at what our competitors were doing and to come up with a Website that would truly set us apart from everyone else.”

Anderson said that Clickfarm’s development process was refreshing in that he and his team were always able to log on to the beta site, monitor progress and make comments as work progressed. “We had input and access to the project every step of the way,” he said. “I could log onto the site at night from home and see where the project stood.”

In addition to the Clickfarm content management system, which serves as the “engine” for the Website, the Clickfarm team created a Flash-based program that enables Harbinger’s clients and prospects to access market-level real estate data in the five-county Kansas City Metropolitan Area, and to quickly download PDF reports.

The site includes also includes a property search interface that enables clients and prospects to not only review Harbinger’s property portfolio and featured properties, but also to conduct a search using a variety of criteria including zoning, square-footage and location.

“It’s a great resource for our customers, and the ‘need help’ form is right there for clients who want to send an e-mail or receive immediate response from one of our staff,” said Anderson.

The Harbinger Properties Group Website has accomplished every objective set forth at the outset of the project. “We get compliments on our Website all the time,” said Anderson. “Numerous clients have asked where we are headquarters are, thinking that we’re a lot bigger company than we actually are.”
